About me
Sophie is an interdisciplinary artist based in London and Kuala Lumpur. She holds an Undergraduate from the University of Manchester in Theological Studies in Philosophy and Ethics. Practising across sculpture, moving image, print, and installation, Sophie often incorporates creative coding and generative modelling to prompt reflection on absence, dissonance, liminality, and the unseen structures that shape experience. Drawn to negative space, Her work interrogates the ethical and philosophical frameworks that guide culture and wider thought. Sophie’s research and practice engages with themes of cultural intersectionality, personal and collective memory, and speculating sustainable futures. She sometimes uses satirical humour to interrogate political themes, fascinated by melancholy and absurdity. Her practice is grounded in critical inquiry, while also embracing intuition, and intuitive making, leaving space for poetic ambiguity.
